"Este artículo explora la idea náhuatl de tetzahuitl y sus interpretaciones en la historiografía novohispana, desde los testimonios de la tradición indígena relativos la caída de Tula recabados por fray Bernardino de Sahagún, así como la manera en que este franciscano interpretó el vocablo, siguiendo con la forma en que fray Juan de Torquemada concibió el concepto, y concluyendo con la mirada que Francisco Javier Clavigero dio del asunto."

"This paper explores the Nahuatl idea of tetzahuitl and its interpretations in the colonial historiography, since the testimonies of the indigenous tradition concerning the fall of Tula compiled by friar Bernardino de Sahagún, and how this Franciscan interpreted the term, following the way that Juan de Torquemada conceived the concept, and concluding with the look that Francisco Javier Clavigero gave to the issue."
