Los motivos de una monja: sor Feliciana de San Francisco. Valladolid de Michoacán, 1632-1655
Abstract
Rescatar la historia de una personita menuda es la intención de este artículo. Se trata de una mujer llamada Feliciana y de cuyo apellido no estamos seguros; pudo ser Otalora o bien Rivera. Vivió durante el segundo tercio del siglo XVII en la ciudad de Valladolid, obispado de Michoacán, virreinato de la Nueva España. Fue recluida en un convento por la fuerza y luchó durante más de 20 años para ganar su derecho a escoger el camino de su salvación, como bien sabemos, uno de los valores supremos de aquella sociedad.
