Desde el punto de vista del comensal: alimento y perspectiva en la narrativa nahua

Abstract

While anthropology has attempted to analyze the point of view of the native, the Nahua narrative has been particularly interested in discerning the perspective of the table companion, whose points of view play a relevant role in the series of exchanges men usually hold with the underworld. Through the analysis of different myths, both pre-Hispanic and contemporary, this article examines the relationship between perception and alimentation, in order to offer a new reading of indigenous offerings and sacrifices

Así como la antropología ha intentado descifrar el punto de vista del nativo, la narrativa nahua ha estado particularmente interesada en discernir la perspectiva del comensal, cuyos puntos de vista desempeñan un papel relevante en la serie de intercambios que los hombres sostienen habitualmente con el inframundo. Mediante el estudio de distintos relatos, tanto prehispánicos como contemporáneos, el presente artículo examina las relaciones entre la percepción y la alimentación, con el fin de ofrecer una nueva lectura de las ofrendas y los sacrificios indígenas
