Abstract

This chapter analyzes the critical correspondence between the author of the Gaceta de Literatura de México and a writer identified as "Regnícola." Through an ironic and incisive exchange, the author responds to criticisms he has received, defends his contributions to the natural sciences and literature, and points out the shortcomings and prejudices of his opponents. Topics such as the quality of scientific publications, expectations regarding research, and the role of naturalists in society are addressed. The discussion also includes references to the works of contemporary authors and the importance of rigor in the study of science. The author argues that, despite limitations and challenges, dedication to study and the acquisition of knowledge are fundamental.

El capítulo analiza la correspondencia crítica entre el autor de la Gaceta de Literatura de México y un escritor identificado como "Regnícola".
