"This research identifies, provides biographical notes, and renders the family reconstruction (ascending and descending genealogy) of the knights of the Military Order of Alcántara, who were present in the viceroyalty of New Spain. It is an approach to the subject and a work that will be presented in installments. It is framed in the context of the honors (habit grants) that established one of the New Spanish viceregal elites, traditionally studied as middle and corporate nobility and whose family network links spaces of power both in the Metropolis and in other American viceroyalties"

"Investigación que identifica, aporta notas biográficas y realiza la reconstrucción familiar (genealogía ascendente y descendente) de los caballeros de la Orden Militar de Alcántara, que estuvieron presentes en el virreinato de la Nueva España. Se trata de un acercamiento al tema y un trabajo por entregas. Está enmarcado en el contexto de los honores (mercedes de hábito) que configuraron una de las élites virreinales novohispanas, tradicionalmente estudiadas como nobleza media y corporativa, y cuyo entramado familiar nos remite a espacios de poder tanto en la Metrópoli, como en otros virreinatos americanos"
