Abstract

The text analyzes the Nahuatl writings of Fray Bernardino de Sahagún, highlighting how indigenous informants collaborated in a process of acculturation during the 16th century. It emphasizes the absence of violent resentment in the texts, rather showing nostalgia and acceptance of cultural changes driven by the Church and Spanish conquest. The document highlights the adaptation of indigenous traditions to Christian spirituality through a respectful and strategic approach, following historical evangelization models. It also shows the influence of the College of Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco in training bilingual indigenous individuals and the incorporation of European terms into Nahuatl. El texto analiza los escritos en náhuatl de Fray Bernardino de Sahagún, destacando cómo sus informantes indígenas colaboraron en un proceso de aculturación durante el siglo XVI.
